The crockpot is a staple in some kitchens. This handy appliance allows even the worst cooks to create a tasty meal without much effort.

Some crockpot meals contain a long list of ingredients and may even force you to prepare some food before tossing it into the crockpot. But the best crockpot recipes are those that use little ingredients and don’t require much prep work beforehand. The following are five simple, yet tasty, crockpot recipes.

Cheesy Crockpot Chicken

Chicken and cheese with no pre-crockpot cooking? Sound delish. And it is. One taste of this treat and you’ll easily be adding it into your rotation.

Ingredients:

• 6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, halved

• 2 cans cream of chicken soup

• 8 oz. Velveeta

• garlic powder, to taste

• salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

1.         Thoroughly clean chicken. Add garlic powder, salt and pepper to the chicken.

2.         Place chicken in crockpot. Add in soup and Velveeta.

3.         Cook on low for eight hours.

Glazed Ham

Ham is such a tasty dinner, and when it’s prepared in the crockpot, it’s even more enjoyable because there wasn’t any hard cooking involved.

Ingredients:

• 1 canned hame

• 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard

• ¼ cup orange marmalade

Directions:

1.         Remove ham from can and rinse.

2.         Place ham in the crockpot.

3.         Cover the top of the ham with mustard and marmalade.

4.         Cook on low for eight hours.

Easy Breakfast Casserole

Crockpots don’t have to only be used for dinner. They also make tasty breakfast dishes too.

Ingredients:

• 4 slices of bread

• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

• 6 eggs, beaten

• 12 oz. bacon, cooked

• 2 cups milk

Directions:

1.         Grease the bottom of the crockpot.

2.         Place the bread at the bottom of the crockpot.

3.         Add bacon, cheese, milk and eggs.

4.         Cook on low for 2 hours.

Beany BBQ Soup

Soups are great in the crockpot because they don’t burn as easily as they do when cooked on the stovetop.

Ingredients:

• 1 lb. beans

• ¾ cup onion, chopped

• 2 pounds beef short ribs

• black pepper, to taste

• 6 cups water

• 1 cup BBQ sauce

Directions:

1, Place beans, onion, short ribs and pepper in crockpot.

2. Add in the water.

3. Cook on low for 10 hours.

4. Remove meat from crockpot and remove from the bone. Place back into crockpot.

5. Add in BBQ sauce.

6. Cook on high for 30 minutes.

Beef Fajitas

Tasty beef fajitas cooked in the crockpot will have your stomach aching for more.

Ingredients:

• 1-1/2 lbs. flank steak, cut into pieces

• ½ cup sweet onion, chopped

• green pepper, cut into strips

• red pepper, cut into strips

• 1 jar salsa

Directions:

1.         Place steak, onion, green pepper, red pepper and salsa into crockpot.

2.         Cook on low for eight hours.

3.         Remove steak and slice up with a fork. Return to crockpot.

4.         Place mixture into tortillas when ready to serve. Top with your favorite garnishes.
